Any ideas that are helpful for getting through the MAT program in a sane, healthy way could go here. Also, this might be a good place to post if you have a situation or challenge with which you would like advice--or if you just have some good advice to share.

Under HELPFUL LINKS, could you check to see if the link to Willamette School of Education is correct?
All fixed--thanks for pointing that out!
As a new teacher, I have now been introduced to the non-perfect classroom. You mean not all students work quietly? Tru dat. Not all students want to be in math class? What?
So, Friday I got somewhat upset with some of my students who pull similar attitudes. Then I graded some papers of students who got 8 out of 37 on a quiz. ...that's 22%, in case you too didn't want to do the math. I was angry with myself, frustrated, etc. Then I read this quote:
Isaiah 9: 21 ...For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
I am no expert on teaching...yet. But from this experience I have concluded that it is ok to get upset sometimes (But no corporal punishment right?). Students need to see a consequence for bad behavior, but they also need that hand extending out to help them progress.
You have seen that I use exercise to release stress. Sometimes reading from the "Good Book" helps me as well.
